Srinagar, July 18, (KNS): The Department of Neurosciences at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, recently held an advanced Simulation Training Programme in Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) and Neurovascular Intervention. The training took place at the institute’s modern Vet Lab and combined hands-on simulation with expert academic sessions.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Prof. M. Ashraf Ganie, Director and EOSG of SKIMS. Its main goal was to bridge the gap between traditional medical training and the fast-growing field of neurovascular care. Experts emphasized the need to include neurovascular techniques in the training of neurosurgery, neurology, and interventional neuroradiology students.
National-level faculty led the sessions, including Dr. Trilochan Srivastava from Swai Mann Singh Medical College, Jaipur; Dr.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelDeepinder Singh, Chairman of Neurosurgery at SPS Apollo Hospital, Ludhiana; and Dr. Sinha, Director of IISER Mohali, who also addressed the participants.
The training covered both theory and practice. The hands-on simulation sessions gave young doctors a chance to gain real-time experience in a controlled environment.
The programme received strong participation from residents and faculty members, who appreciated the practical value of the training. Feedback from attendees praised the initiative for helping future doctors keep up with advances in neurointervention.(KNS)
