SMC Fully Equipped to Tackle Snow Challenges: SMC Commissioner

 Srinagar, Dec 28 (KNS): In response to the recent snowfall, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has ramped up snow clearance efforts to ensure smooth movement across the city. Commissioner SMC, Dr. Owais Ahmad, personally supervised the operations during an early morning city tour. 

Speaking at Lal Chowk, Dr. Ahmad assured that the SMC is fully prepared to tackle the challenges posed by the snow. He highlighted that over 40 snow clearance machines were deployed across various wards, along with a dedicated workforce, to clear key roads, including those connecting hospitals and essential services.

The Commissioner emphasized that the snow clearance is being carried out in phases, with priority roads already cleared and efforts progressing steadily in other areas. He encouraged residents to remain calm, assuring that the city’s infrastructure is functioning efficiently to address the situation. (KNS)
