Srinagar, Sept 9 (KNS): Spanish filmmaker Anna Saura has praised the ongoing International Film Festival of Jammu & Kashmir (IFFJK), describing it as an important initiative that brings filmmakers and cinema professionals from across the world together in Kashmir.

Saura appreciated the efforts of the organisers and the Department in creating a platform for filmmakers, artists and other cinema professionals to interact and exchange ideas.

Speaking about Kashmir, Saura said the region's natural beauty and cultural richness offer considerable possibilities for filmmaking.

She expressed hope that the festival would encourage more filmmakers from across the world to visit Kashmir and explore opportunities for cinema in the region.

The inaugural IFFJK is showcasing films from India and abroad and aims to provide a platform for cultural exchange while strengthening Jammu and Kashmir's engagement with the international film community.(KNS)
