Srinagar, Nov 15 (KNS): The tragic accident at Tengapora Bypass in Srinagar, which claimed the lives of two young students, underscores a disturbing reality. Despite prior interventions, including counseling from traffic authorities, the issue of underage driving persists.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic Srinagar, Muzaffar Ahmad Shah told KNS that one of the deceased boys had already been warned by the police on multiple occasions. His parents were also counseled by the authorities, advising them against allowing their son to drive.
Yet, these warnings went unheeded, and the young boy was tragically involved in a reckless racing incident that led to his death.
This incident highlights the broader problem of societal responsibility when it comes to underage driving.

The traffic department's efforts to curb underage driving were evident in their recent crackdown, where numerous unlicensed and underage drivers were caught across the city.
However, despite these measures, the continued disregard for traffic rules and safety by some members of society raises serious questions about how much can truly be accomplished without a more cooperative approach from the community. (KNS)
