Shopian, Oct 6 (KNS): Strong winds in Shopian last night caused minor damage to apple orchards, with a number of apples falling prematurely. In addition, the Hirpora area experienced a hailstorm in the evening, leading to slight damage to ripened fruit.

Horticulture Officer Shopian, Muzaffar Ahmad Naikoo, stated, "The winds caused an estimated loss of only about one percent. While the hailstorm in Hirpora caused minor damage, it is not expected to affect the overall yield."
