Srinagar, Dec 14 (KNS): Senior CPI(M) leader and MLA Kulangam Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has strongly criticized the Central Government's proposed 'One Nation, One Election' initiative, describing it as a means of undermining the democratic rights of the people.
Addressing a press conference here, Tarigami said, "They want to create autocratic rule in India. Cutting across the party lines, all politicians and public should oppose it strongly." The 'One Nation, One Election' proposal, which aims to synchronize elections for the Lok Sabha and state assemblies, has sparked widespread debate across the political spectrum.
