Srinagar, Aug 19(KNS): Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPIM) leader MY Tarigami has requested the Election Commission of India (ECI) to lift the suspension of government advertisements to newspapers in Jammu and Kashmir, which is currently in effect due to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) for upcoming elections.
In his letter to Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, Tarigami highlighted the severe financial strain the print media industry in the region is experiencing due to the suspension.

Tarigami's appeal comes at a critical moment for the Jammu and Kashmir print media industry, which is grappling with severe financial difficulties.
