Srinagar, Aug 22(KNS): Senior CPI(M) leader M.Y. Tarigami expressed support for the newly announced pre-poll alliance between the National Conference (NC) and Congress for the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

The alliance was officially revealed by NC President Farooq Abdullah following meetings with Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Malikarjun Kharge.

Tarigami, who is also part of this alliance, welcomed the move as essential given the current challenges faced by Jammu and Kashmir, particularly since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, which led to the state’s division into two union territories.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

He emphasized the need for secular parties to unite and oppose the current regime's actions, which have undermined the region's constitutional rights.

Tarigami highlighted that the pre-poll alliance is crucial for addressing the significant issues affecting the people of Jammu and Kashmir and combating the BJP’s policies that have adversely impacted local livelihoods.(KNS).
