SRINAGAR July 14 (KNS): The recent amendments by the Ministry of Home Affairs to Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act , 2019, constitute another brazen assault on the remaining nominal rights , virtually downsizing a historic state to the status of a bigger municipality. This amendment in the so-called Reorganisation Act amounts to repeated betrayal of the promises made by the BJP govt. regarding restoration of full statehood to J&K . This is the only UT which remains without an assembly since 2018. Despite tall claims of normalcy, the people have been deprived of their legitimate right of having an elected assembly.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelAs of now, when claims of holding elections are being made, this authoritarian order has sent shockwaves to the people of the entire region . This disempowers the people further. Even if elections are held , it will not provide any sense of achievement to the people as the elected legislature will not be effective in providing any substantial relief to the people.

CPIM ought-rightly rejects this authoritarian move and demands its immediate revocation. It further appeals to all the sections of population and political parties to unitedly raise their voice against this draconian order.(KNS)
