Three Drug Peddlers Arrested in Handwara

 Srinagar, Nov 02(KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Handwara and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

"A team from Handwara Police, led by SHO Kralgund, established a checkpoint at Ananwan Crossing Kralgund. The individuals apprehended are 1) Irshad Ahmad Gazi, son of Gh Rasool Gazi, resident of Kralpora Kralgund; 2) Sajad Ahmad Rather, son of Mohd Subhan Rather, resident of Kralpora Kralgund; and 3) Syed Anwar Geelani, an SPO posted at Kupwara, son of Syed Sharief-ud-din Geelani, resident of Tangwari Kunnel. During a search, 105 grams of a substance resembling Charas was recovered from them," a Police Spokesperson said, adding that all the accused were arrested on the spot.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

"A case has been registered under FIR No. 67/2024 at Police Station Kralgund, and an investigation is underway," the police said, adding that community members are encouraged to provide any information regarding drug peddlers in their area.
"Those involved in drug peddling will be dealt with according to the law. Our actions against drug peddlers aim to keep our society free from drugs," the police said.(KNS)
