Traffic Challenges in Rajouri-Poonch Reviewed by DIG Traffic Jammu

Rajouri, July 31 (KNS): The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Traffic Jammu Range, Dr. Haseeb Mughal IPS, conducted a review of the traffic challenges in the Rajouri-Poonch Range at a meeting held in the Conference Hall, DPL Rajouri. The meeting also included a detailed discussion on the proposed deployments for the forthcoming Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra (SBANJY) - 2024.

Dr. Mughal, accompanied by SSP Traffic Rural Jammu, Vinay Kumar Kullar JKPS, chaired the meeting, which was attended by officers and officials of the traffic police from Rajouri and Poonch. The session began with a welcome address by DySP Traffic Rajouri-Poonch, Nawaz Ahmed, who briefed the senior officers on the day-to-day functioning and challenges faced by the traffic police.

During the interaction, officials raised concerns about the functioning of e-challaning machines, issues with bike riders, road conditions, and personal welfare. These issues were carefully noted by DIG Mughal for early resolution, with some addressed on the spot. SSP Traffic Rural Jammu, Vinay Kumar Kullar, emphasized discipline and the right code of conduct while performing duties. He instructed officers to focus on quality challaning, particularly for overloading, overspeeding, drunken driving, and the use of mobile phones while driving.

Dr. Mughal provided necessary directions on traffic policing and future challenges, stressing the importance of personal and collective security. He advocated for the use of electronic gadgets and body-worn cameras during duties and highlighted the need for people-friendly policing. Engaging religious and community leaders, as well as NCC members, for public awareness on traffic rules was also emphasized.

The meeting concluded with detailed instructions for the upcoming SBANJY 2024, directing officers to prepare for Yatra duties and ensure smooth convoy movements. Maintaining close coordination with district police and other agencies was stressed to ensure effective traffic management.

Dr. Mughal wished the traffic police good luck for the upcoming challenges and emphasized the importance of their role in maintaining peace and order.(KNS)
