Srinagar, April 6, (KNS): In a historic moment for Jammu and Kashmir’s Floriculture and tourism sectors, Asia’s largest tulip garden, located on the foothills of the Zabarwan range overlooking the Dal Lake, witnessed an unprecedented footfall of 81,452 visitors in a single day, setting a new all-time record in its history. This milestone marks April 6, 2025, as a landmark day, now etched into the garden’s legacy as the highest single-day visitor turnout ever recorded.

Since its opening to the general public on March 26, 2025, the garden has attracted 389,608 visitors over the past 12 days. Notably, today's footfall even surpasses the renowned Keukenhof Garden in the Netherlands, which, during its peak season, has accommodated 45000 visitors in a single day.

According to KNS this year, the garden presents a spectacular display of 1.7 million tulips in 74 vibrant varieties, creating a mesmerizing mosaic of color and fragrance that continues to captivate visitors from across the globe.

This monumental achievement marks a new record for the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, recognized by the World Book of Records, London, and showcases its growing appeal as a global floral destination.
