Two Held In Ladakh With Gold Worth Crores Smuggled From China

LEH, July 10 (KNS): Two individuals have been arrested in the Nyoma sector of Leh district, Ladakh, on charges of smuggling several kilograms of gold from China. The smugglers, identified as Tsering Chinba and Stanzin Dorgyal, both residents of Koyul, Nyoma, were apprehended by the 21 Bn ITBP in the Zursar area near PP 54 with 108 kg of gold.

Officials revealed that the gold, valued at several crores of rupees, was stacked in a house in Koyul village near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe seizure was made by the ITBP and local police based on intelligence inputs.

The duo allegedly smuggled the gold and stored it in their home. The locally stationed Army Brigade under the 15 Sector received information about the operation and relayed it to the 21 Battalion, leading to the arrests. (KNS)
