Srinagar, July 23 (KNS): Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has raised concerns regarding the recently announced budget, highlighting the critical issues of unemployment, water, and electricity in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking to the media, Abdullah acknowledged the lack of time to thoroughly examine the budget due to his commitments with organizational work but highlighted several pressing matters.
"Unemployment is the biggest issue in Jammu and Kashmir, possibly the highest in the country," Abdullah stated. "We are keen to see if the budget includes any special provisions to address this grave concern."
Futhermore, Abdullah pointed out the severe issues with electricity and water supply in the region.
"There are major problems with power and water supply here.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelWe would like these issues to be addressed in the budget. If not, our two Members of Parliament will surely raise these matters in the legislature," he asserted.
Abdullah also commented on a recent order related to the management of temple properties, known as the Kavari order. "The order regarding Kavari is necessary, but such orders should never be required in the first place. It is good that the administration has directed shopkeepers in the area to display the names of their establishments," he remarked.
If these issues are overlooked, the representatives from the region are prepared to advocate strongly for their resolution in the appropriate forums, Abdullah added.
