Water Scarcity Hits Beerwah Town in Budgam

Budgam, July 27(KNS): In the current dry weather, water scarcity has hit various mohallahs of Beerwah town, leaving residents struggling to access potable water.

Mohallahs including Dobhi Mohallah, Hassanabad, College Mohallah, and Dar Mohallah are among the worst affected, with residents relying on tanker water or traveling long distances to fetch water from nearby sources.

"We are facing a severe water shortage," said Muntazir Ahmad, a resident of Hassanabad Mohallah.

In Dobhi Mohallah, residents are forced to fetch water from a nearby stream, which is often contaminated.

"We have no other option but to use the stream water, which is not safe for drinking," said Sajad Ahmad, a resident of Dobhi Mohallah.

Dar Mohallah is also facing a severe water crisis, with residents complaining about the lack of attention from the authorities.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

"We have approached the authorities multiple times, but nothing has been done," said Fayaz Ahmad, a resident of Dar Mohallah.

College Mohallah is another area affected by the water scarcity, with residents struggling to access water for their daily needs.

"We are forced to rely on our own resources to meet our water needs," said Mohammad Ayub, a resident of College Mohallah.

The local Jal Shakti Department has failed to provide adequate water supply, leading to tensions among residents.

"We urge the authorities to take immediate action to address our water woes," said a group of residents. "We can't survive without water." (KNS)
