Srinagar, Aug 15(KNS):Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stated that the administration and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir are determined not to allow terrorism to revive in the Union Territory.
Speaking at the 78th Independence Day celebration at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar, Sinha emphasized that efforts by the neighboring country to revive terrorism would not succeed. He called on the people of Jammu to support the security forces in eradicating terrorism
Sinha acknowledged recent challenges in the Jammu region, including a recent counter-terror operation in Assar, Doda, which resulted in the deaths of an army captain and a foreign terrorist. He praised the J&K police for their efforts and noted the significant progress made in development over the past five years, including the recognition of previously marginalized communities.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He highlighted a rise in tourism following the G-20 meeting in Srinagar, with over 1 crore tourists visiting J&K by June 30 of this year. Sinha also announced that the Amarnath cave shrine and Gurez are now connected to the power grid and mentioned upcoming updates to the J&K Industrial Policy aimed at making it more industry-friendly.
Also, he noted that J&K Bank has transformed from a loss-making entity in 2019 to a profitable institution serving the people of the UT.(KNS).
