Citizens have big role in ensuring peace; Few elements trying to derail peace in J&K; Peace leads improved tourism, infrastructure and urban transformation; Government will welcome citizens with open heart if they feel wrong in any decision

 Srinagar, Nov 16 (KNS): Lieutenant Governor J&K Manoj Sinha Thursday reiterated that without peace there can be no development. He urged common citizens to come forward and play their role in ensure and retain peace in the region.

“Without peace there cannot be development. It is imperative to ensure peace if we need development and reformation. It is not duty of police and security forces only to work for peace but citizens as well should realize their responsibility and should come forward and play their role in ensuring and retaining peace in the region,” LG Manoj Sinha as per KNS said while speaking while addressing a function organized by Srinagar Smart City Limited. LG at the occasion inaugurated SSCL’s 4 Dal Lake Front projects which will be city’s most unique and serene attractions.

LG Sinha urged citizens of J&K to play their role in ensuring peace in the region. “If we left everything on forces and administration and run away from our responsibilities then peace is a distant dream which cannot happen,” LG Sinha said.

Speaking tough against those trying to disturb peace in the region, the LG Sinha said the time of conflict profiteers is over although but still there are elements who want to disturb peace in J&K.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“I want to say the time of conflict profiteers is over. Still there are elements who want to disturb peace whether anything big happens in J&K or not? They use issues pertaining to outside world to incite J&K people towards violence,” he said.

LG added that we should realize the way tourism is improving leads augmentation of infrastructure and urban transformation. “We should proud on developmental process and reformative exercises, not of this matter that we have a person who killed 100 people,” he added.

He also added the day when peace will be disturbed there will be no tourism, development, employment and infrastructure. There are elements who are talking and inciting people without having any evidence.

LG appealed to common citizens of J&K to come forward if they feel any wrong in decisions taken by the government. “I reiterate if any citizen of J&K feels our decision wrong, we welcome him with open heart and are ready to talk with them. But it is not good to spread rumors and hoodwink common masses,” LG continued. (KNS)
