Srinagar March 12 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress (JKPYC) today organized a candle march in Srinagar to protest the tragic killing of three youths in the Kathua district by terrorists. The peaceful march, led by J&K Youth Congress President Srinagar Yasir Mandoo, aimed to express solidarity with the bereaved families and raise awareness about the rising number of civilian deaths due to terrorist activities in the region.
Yasir Mandoo said, "Civilian deaths due to terror attacks are rising, and the BJP government should be held accountable for the security lapses that have allowed such attacks to take place." He further remarked, "The Kathua killings expose the growing security failures of the government. We must ensure justice for the victims and work towards securing a future free from the threat of violence and terror." The candle march, which was attended by Youth Congress workers and leaders, including Mohammad Shafi, Saqib Sultan, Syed Iqbal, Musadiq Mehraj, Waseem Ullah, and Imran Ahmad, carried candles as a symbol of mourning for the victims and their families while demanding justice and security reforms.
As part of the demonstration, the J&K Youth Congress leaders pledged to continue their efforts to hold the government accountable for its failure to provide adequate security, particularly in the face of growing terror-related incidents. They also called on the authorities to ensure swift justice for the victims and their families and to work on implementing measures that protect the youth and civilians from such attacks in the future.(KNS)
