Young Lawyers Forum Kashmir Embarks on Public-Centric Legal Initiative for Social Justice

Srinagar, Nov 23(KNS): The Young Lawyers Forum (YLF), a dynamic collective of young legal minds and a registered society here on Thursday  unanimously passed a resolution in a pivotal meeting aimed at amplifying their commitment to social justice.

The meeting saw impassioned discussions and a shared dedication to harnessing the power of law for positive societal change.

In a landmark decision, the Young Lawyers Forum resolved to actively seek and accept information from the public concerning issues of public importance that could be effectively addressed through legal channels, including filing of Public interest latigation, represenations etc.

The public can submit their grievances by visiting the website ylfkashmir.com or by writing to the organization at contact@ylfkashmir.com and submit their grievance. The legal experts shall then make an endeavor to address the issues brought to their knowledge by taking up the matter as representations/petitions or provide the necessary legal advice to the applicants.

The Young Lawyers Forum resolved to expand their outreach by introducing this comprehensive project that not only addresses legal issues but also extends free legal advice to the public. This innovative initiative is designed to offer guidance on matters of public importance, emphasizing transparency and accountability as core principles.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The resolution underscores YLF's pledge to be a conduit for the voices of the people, providing a platform for the community to bring forth concerns that demand legal intervention. By opening channels for collaboration between the legal fraternity and the public, YLF aims to create a more inclusive and participatory legal landscape in Kashmir.

Speaking about the initiative, Mohammad Haris Mir, the Public Relations Officer of YLF, stated, “Our vision is rooted in the belief that the legal community has a vital role to play in fostering social justice. Through this project, we aim to bridge the gap between legal expertise and the public, empowering individuals with knowledge and support to navigate the complexities of the legal system.”

The Young Lawyers Forum (Kashmir) was founded on the conviction that law is a potent instrument for societal transformation and that young legal minds possess the skills necessary to lead socio-legal initiatives. YLF stands as a testament to this conviction, aspiring to inspire and encourage young legal professionals and students to engage actively in social litigation and legal awareness.(KNS).
