Srinagar, October 4 (KNS): Former Indian cricket coach and iconic player Ravi Shastri expressed optimism about the future of cricket in Jammu and Kashmir.
Shastri, who first played in Srinagar in 1987 highlighted the significant improvements in the J&K's cricketing landscape and the enthusiasm of the local community,
Reflecting on the transformation since his last visit, Shastri emphasized the growing interest in the sport and the increasing opportunities for young talent in the region. "There is immense potential here. The youngsters are full of talent, and with the right exposure, they can go far. The presence of legends in events like this is an inspiration for them,” he stated according to KNS correspondent while speaking to media persons on sidelines of a Legends League Cricket tournament.
When asked about Umran Malik, the local fast-bowling sensation who has made a mark on the national stage, Shastri encouraged him to continue working hard amidst tough competition.
