Amarnath Yatra Reflects Brotherhood in Kashmir: Farooq Abdullah

Srinager, June 18(KNS): Member Parliament and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Farooq Abdullah, Sunday described the Amarnath Yatra as a symbol of brotherhood in the Kashmir Valley.

He said that that those who spread hatred in the country should witness how both communities including Muslims and Hindus in Kashmir come together to support each other for the smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage.

Speaking to reporters, he also urged those who propagate hatred to observe the camaraderie and cooperation between Muslims and Hindus during the Yatra.

Abdullah also emphasized the importance of the Amarnath Yatra for the livelihood of the local population, particularly those who work during the pilgrimage season. He said that the earnings from this period sustain them through the winter months.

Responding to concerns about shortages of water, electricity, and food grains, Abdullah said that such issues are common every year, the government should address these problems promptly.(KNS).
