Cancer Society Kashmir, SKUAST-K hold awareness program on breast cancer

Srinagar October 18 (KNS): The Cancer Society Kashmir in collaboration with SKUAST Kashmir organized daylong event on awareness of breast cancer and screening in Srinagar.


The inaugural session was presided by Vice Chancellor SKUAST, Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganie.
 
The awareness programme was attended by hundreds of people, employees from different departments of the district including Health services represented by scores of teachers and lecturers from various colleges, SKUAST faculty, residents and other students of the university.
 
The well known and prominemnt doctors of Kashmir Valley were also present on the occasion, including, Prof, M Maqbool Lone, Prof Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat, Prof M Ashraf Ganie. The speakers shed linght on the breast cancer and gave an overview of cancer and mything about it. 

The speakers also highlighted the early diagnose and prompt treatment of breast cancer. 

While on the occasion, the Chairman of Kashmir Cancer Society, Syed Manzoor Ahmad Shah, assured that Kashmir Cancer Society is committed to provide its assistance to the cancer patients. 

VC SKUSAT, Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganie, highlighted the importance of the event and said it is the responsibility of every stakeholder to contribute to fight the dreadful disease. He assured that the SKUASTM Kashmir will be at fore front to prove every possible support to eradicate the cancer from society.

Kashmir Cancer society has organized series of awareness events and conduct screening to fight the cancer in the Kashmir Valley. The society thanked all the participants for their presence in the event. 
The event also included an impressive ‘Interactive session’ where the participants actively participated by asking questions to the experts. The experts satisfactorily answered their questions. The session proved to be very fruitful.(KNS)
