Srinagar, June 19 (KNS): Former Parliamentary Affairs & Law Minister Basharat Bukharir on Monday dispelled rumors about him being joining another party. He also said he has no idea about any alliance being made for forthcoming assembly polls in J&K.

Speaking exclusively to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Bukhari said that I was disassociated from People’s Conference party activities a month ago and subsequently dispelled rumors of being joining another political party in coming days. “Whatever is being spread in media, I have no idea about any alliance being made for forthcoming assembly polls in J&K but was quick to add that anything is possible in politics,” Bukhari said.

He said that he will concentrate on strengthening his base in his constituency and work for the welfare and betterment of his people. “The switching on to other political party is a normal process in politics. There is no impossible in politics. When you are not comfortable with some political party you have an option to leave it. If a dispute arises in a marriage there is a escape route called divorce,” he said.

“I have achieved lot of experience in local politics. During my political career I met many people and came close to their mindset and ideologies. I will talk to my people in and outside constituency to chart out future strategy,” he added.

“There is a paramount importance to be loyal with our people. When you come into politics it is your responsibility to tread a behavior which benefits people who vote us,” he added.

He further added that today we should ponder upon whether we represent people in a better way or not. “Today there is no government or people’s representative. But it is our duty to suo-moto represent our people. There is a time to show loyalty towards people and their cause,” he held.

Notably former minister of erstwhile J&K State Basharat Bukhari was expelled by Sajad Gani Lone led People’s Conference, alleging him involved in “anti-party” activities.

“Syed Basharat Bukhari (@AnNaqvi_Bukhari), Constituency Head Kreeri is hereby expelled from the party, for indulging in anti party activities. Also all @JKPC_ and @YJKPC_ units of Kreeri stand dissolved and will be reconstituted after the new Constituency head assumes charge,” JKPC had tweeted. (KNS)
