Srinagar, July 14 (KNS): The mega job fair being organized by the Desh Bhagat University Punjab and Department of Labour and Employment has received overwhelming response from the job aspirants with more than 6000 registrations within a week.
The management from 209 companies will be available to select students from the Kashmir region for 5000 vacancies with the handsome annual package on 15th July 2023 at Exhibition Ground Kashmir Haat Srinagar. The sectors where they will be placed include Health, Marketing, Manufacturing, BPO, Hospitality, Ed-Tech Pharmaceutical, Skill Development, Banking, IT Sector, and education.
President Desh Bhagat University Dr Sandeep Singh says that the empowerment of J&K students has always been the priority of the university.
“Whether it is scholarships or job placements, Desh Bhagat University w always takes the lead to provide wings to students of J&K to excel in different fields. The Job fair in association with J&K Government is also part of our commitment and vision to provide job avenues to the youth of J&K at their doorstep. Besides providing quality education, it is our endeavour to provide them requisite training so that they can excel in the job market better than their peers from other institutions,” he added.
Regarding the further educational initiatives of the university, Dr. Singh said that a special scholarship scheme- DBEST (Desh Bhagat University Entrance Scholarship Test) is offered by the University for meritorious and needy students. Under DBEST, up to 100% scholarship is given to the students who clear the entrance test. With this initiative, DBU is paving the way to make education accessible and affordable.
He also emphasized that the University is carving its niche in higher education, research, sports, placements, innovation and entrepreneurship.
Desh Bhagat University is also providing various scholarships to promote education among the masses. Shakti Scholarships is being provided to girl students under ‘Beti Padhao Beti Bachao’ initiative. The University also provides sports scholarships for the benefit and encouragement of budding sportspersons. Scholarships worth more than Rs23 crores will be provided by the University in session 2023-24 to different categories.(KNS)
