Says Police other security agencies working in tandem to identify, neutralize terrorists

Jammu, May 10 (KNS): Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh on Wednesday said that it is difficult to say that the terrorist group involved in recent Rajouri-Poonch attack is a newly infiltrated group or old one but it is apparently clear that these terrorist groups are backed by Pakistan to disturb peace in J&K.

"It is difficult to say that the terrorist group involved in Rajouri-Poonch attacks is a new group or an old group but it is certain that these terrorists groups are being backed by Pakistan to disturb peace in J&K," DGP Dilbagh Singh said as per KNS while speaking to reporters.

He said police and other security agencies conducted several successful anti-militancy operations both in Jammu and Kashmir divisions. "At the time of PMs visit, two terrorists who were fidayeen were neutralized. Prior to that two more terrorists were gunned down in Nagrota Udhampur after intercepted by alert forces. Besides Police along with security forces thwarted weapon dropping activities through drones along areas of Line of Control. With these efforts the designs of Pakistan were exposed by police and other security agencies," DGP Dilbagh Singh said.

He said in Rajouri-Poonch areas which are close to border, more than half of dozen operations were carried out in which several infiltrators were killed and dropping of weapons and drugs were foiled.

The DGP Dilbagh Singh added that J&K Police along with other security agencies are working in tandem to identify and eliminate the terrorists involved in disturbing peace in J&K. (KNS)
