Srinagar, Apr 3 (KNS) : The Chamber of Commerce & Industry Kashmir (CCIK) on Friday urged the Director of Floriculture, Mathoora Masoom (JKAS), to introduce differential pricing for locals and tourists at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden and other floriculture parks, stressing that such a move would boost domestic footfall and align with inclusive tourism growth.
In a detailed meeting chaired by CCIK President Tariq Ghani, the delegation also demanded that any future revision in ticket prices be communicated to all stakeholders at least three months in advance to ensure smooth planning. Other key issues raised included park hygiene, maintenance, and organisation of floriculture festivals in far-flung areas with stakeholder participation.

Director Masoom informed the delegation that e-ticketing has already been rolled out across all floriculture parks, enhancing transparency and visitor convenience. She added that beautification works at Badamwari Garden and the Tulip Garden have led to a significant increase in tourist footfall across the region.
The CCIK placed on record its appreciation for the Director’s proactive approach. director Masoom assured the Chamber that all concerns would be addressed on priority. The meeting ended with both sides reaffirming their commitment to coordinated development of floriculture and tourism sectors in Jammu & Kashmir. (KNS)
