Srinagar, Aug 23 (KNS): Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar, remarked that it is heartening to witness the active involvement of downtown youth in sports activities. He urged the youth to focus on both studies and sports, guiding them towards a constructive path for their future.
"It's truly heartening to see downtown youth actively participating in sports activities. Their wholehearted engagement in sports events reflects their enthusiasm and passion for sports," stated ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar during a cricket tournament held in the Shehr-e-Khas area of Rajouri Kadal, Srinagar, according to KNS.
Commending the efforts of the J&K Sports Council, ADGP Vijay Kumar mentioned, "The J&KSC has organized numerous sports events in Srinagar and across the Kashmir valley. The substantial youth participation and their ardor for the game during these events are admirable. Witnessing such a significant number of youth engaged in sports is indeed encouraging. I believe we should increase the frequency of such events in the future."
Highlighting the people-friendly initiatives of the J&K Police, he emphasized that focusing on tasks like countering militancy, curbing the drug menace, and promoting a crime-free society bolsters public trust in the police force. He assured, "J&K Police is here to support the youth of Kashmir."
He appealed to the youth to prioritize their studies and stay away from drugs. Additionally, he urged parents to closely monitor their children's activities to ensure their welfare.
In a significant first, a cricket tournament was conducted in the Rajouri Kadal area of downtown Srinagar, with the unique distinction of being broadcasted live on television. The tournament was a part of the J&K Qualifier League and saw the active participation of several teams from the Srinagar district.
During the event, ADGP Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar, extended congratulations to the AAN News, organizer Tariq Bhat, for successfully hosting such a significant tournament in downtown Srinagar. He expressed gratitude to the residents for their unwavering support throughout the tournament and urged both participants and spectators to sustain the peaceful atmosphere in the district while contributing to the nation-building process.(KNS)
