Srinagar, Sep 18 (KNS): The Gulmarg Tourism Development Authority (GTDA) has sought participation and sponsorship from hoteliers and other tourism stakeholders for various tourism promotion, winter sports and cleanliness events planned for the upcoming winter season.

In a circular issued by the authority as per news agency Kashmir News Service, Chief Executive Officer Gulmarg Development Authority Alyaz Ahmad Naikoo said the Tourism Department and other departments were gearing up for the winter season and proposed organising various activities in Gulmarg under the banner and sponsorship of local hoteliers and tourism stakeholders.

The initiatives are aimed at promoting Gulmarg as a clean, vibrant and attractive winter tourism destination while encouraging greater participation and ownership among local stakeholders, the circular said.

The authority has requested hoteliers and other service providers to convey their willingness to sponsor or support such events under their respective banners.

The proposed support may include organising or sponsoring tourism promotion activities, winter sports-related events, cleanliness drives and other suitable initiatives, it said.

The stakeholders have been asked to provide details including the name of the hotel or establishment, sponsoring organisation or banner, type of event or activity proposed, tentative date or preferred period and any other suggestions or proposed activities.

The information, according to the circular, will help the authority prepare a coordinated calendar of events for the upcoming winter season and facilitate effective tourism promotion.
