Srinagar, Jun 22 (KNS): The post of Assistant Director of Tourism for Gulmarg, one of the country's premier hill resorts, has been lying vacant for nearly two months, causing concern among stakeholders and affecting the smooth functioning of the department.

 

Tourism operators, hoteliers, guides, and traders in the north Kashmir resort have expressed apprehensions over the administrative vacuum, stating that the absence of a permanent officer has led to delays in official work and coordination issues.

 

"The post has been vacant for almost two months, which is severely impacting administrative work and coordination with the department.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelWe urge the authorities to appoint a regular officer at the earliest," a delegation of stakeholders told Kahsmir News Service (KNS).

 

The stakeholders have appealed to the Commissioner Secretary, Tourism, and the Director of Tourism, Kashmir, to fill the vacancy immediately, asserting that the move would ensure better coordination and smooth functioning of the tourism department in the resort. (KNS)
