Srinagar, Oct 1 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said no goal was too distant for a united India and called upon the youth to embrace fitness, discipline and brotherhood.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the Kashmir Marathon-Run for Unity here, Sinha commended the enthusiasm of the participants and congratulated the runners while lauding the Jammu and Kashmir Police for organising the event.

The Lieutenant Governor said the Run for Unity was not merely about speed or endurance but represented the strength of collective resolve and faith.

“When people walk together, no destination remains impossible,” Sinha said, stressing the importance of determination and unity in overcoming challenges.

He said India's diversity in language, traditions, food and attire was complemented by a shared national identity.

“Unity is India's strength, and when millions of steps move in one direction, even the highest mountains can be crossed,” he said.

Sinha said the Kashmir Marathon had sent a message that “no goal is too distant for a united India”.

He described the participation of young people in the marathon as an investment in a shared future, saying their run was dedicated not only to themselves but also to the new generation of Jammu and Kashmir that dreams of a better India and is working towards making the Union Territory self-reliant and developed.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The Lieutenant Governor urged the youth to embrace discipline, fitness and brotherhood and stay away from drugs.

Referring to the 100-day Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir campaign, Sinha said the initiative had engaged thousands of young people through padyatras and civic action programmes.

He called upon the youth to become brand ambassadors of the Fit India Movement and contribute to nation-building.

“The real victory of a marathon lies not just in reaching the finish line, but in holding each other's hands and moving forward together,” Sinha said.

He called for a collective resolve towards the goal of a developed India by 2047.

More than 6,000 runners participated in different categories of this year's Kashmir Marathon-Run for Unity.

DGP Nalin Prabhat, ADGP Armed Police Nitish Kumar, ADGP CID M K Sinha, senior officers of the police and civil administration, prominent sports personalities and a large number of youths attended the felicitation ceremony. (KNS)
