Patients Bear Brunt of Defunct CT Scan at GMC Handwara

Handwara, Jan 24 (KNS): Despite over three weeks passing, the CT scan machine at Associated Hospital GMC Handwara remains out of order, leaving patients with no option but to travel to other districts for CT scan services.

During a visit to the hospital, DDC Chairman Mir Suleiman expressed his disappointment over the situation, highlighting that such issues would likely have been resolved within twenty days if they occurred in a different hospital.

Local residents voiced their frustration, noting that the CT scan machine consistently faces glitches, compelling patients to spend substantial amounts on private clinics for the necessary scans.

They also raised concerns about space issues, emphasizing that the new building is completed, but authorities are yet to shift operations, exacerbating the challenges faced by patients.

The recent visit by the Secretary of Health to the town has sparked hopes for potential relief in the situation. (KNS)
