BDO refutes allegations, says move was aimed to temporarily shift office over rent issues

Pattan, Dec 07 (KNS): The residents of Khore Sherabad in Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district are up in arms against Block Development Officer over trying to shift the office to some other village. 


According to details available with KNS, the residents also held a protest on Wednesday against the BDO concerned for allegedly trying to shift the office to Hanjiwara village. 

Mohammad Yousuf Khan, Sarpanch Khore Sherabad alleged that the BDO, who joined the officer over a month ago is trying to move the office to another village for some political gains and that the move will create lot of inconveniences for the general public.  

Meanwhile, BDO Khore, Aqib Hakeem told KNS that the allegations were baseless and the suggestion to temporarily shift the office to some other village was made to avoid rent expenses in view of the ongoing construction of the official building. 

ADC Baramulla Zahoor Ahmad Raina, however, assured that no such step would be taken and that the office will not be shifted from the current location. (KNS)
