Srinagar, Oct 6 (KNS) : The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chanapora Constituency, today conducted elections for its Zonal Committee at the party office in Chanapora. The proceedings were presided over by Zahoor Ahmad Mir, former MLA and Cabinet Minister.
Following the voting process, Mohd Altaf Bhat was elected as the Zonal President.
The election proceedings were attended by Chanapora Constituency In-Charge and PDP spokesperson Mohd Iqbal Tramboo, PDP leader Zuhaib Yousuf Mir, former State Secretary Arif Laigroo, Abdul Qayoom Bhat, Mohammad Altaf Tambakoo, Sajjad Alam, Umar Dar, Fayaz Reshi, Bilal Sofi, Mohd Younis, Roma Wani and other party leaders and workers.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohd Iqbal Tramboo stressed the need to further strengthen the party organisation at the grassroots level, saying that organisational elections should not remain limited to the selection of office-bearers.

Mohammad Altaf Tambakoo congratulated Mohd Altaf Bhat on his election and expressed confidence that the newly elected zonal leadership would work with dedication to strengthen the party organisation and deepen its engagement with the people across Chanapora Constituency.
The party functionaries present also congratulated the newly elected Zonal President and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the PDP organisation at the grassroots, expanding public outreach and ensuring that the concerns and aspirations of the people remain at the centre of the party’s political and organisational work.(KNS)
