PHDCC&I delegation attends interactive session organized by JKTPO

Srinagar October 19 (KNS): The PHD  Chamber of Commerce & Industry delegation, led by its esteemed Chair, A P Vicky Shaw today had a highly productive and engaging interactive session with Mr. Vikramjit Singh IPS Commissioner Secretary Industries and Commerce  and  the session, was organised by Mr Khalid Jehangir (JKAS) Managing Director JKTPO, the event served as a platform for the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry to address several crucial issues and put forward their recommendations for the growth and development of the Indsutries.


During the session, the PHDCCI  delegation highlighted various key concerns, with a focus on enhancing trade and economic opportunities in the region. The issues discussed included:

1) Establishment of International Trade Facilitation Center: The Chamber emphasized the need for the establishment of an International Trade Facilitation Center to boost exports and facilitate seamless trade operations.

2) Implementation of MSME CDP Scheme: The Chamber urged for the implementation of the MSME CDP Scheme, which would support the establishment of activity-specific clusters, fostering innovation and growth in the region.

3) Establishment of GI Marts: The Chamber proposed the creation of GI Marts to promote and market exclusive GI products from Jammu and Kashmir UT at both local and national levels, thereby enhancing the visibility and market reach of these unique products.

4) Implementation of Minimum Wages Act: The Chamber stressed the importance of implementing the Minimum Wages Act for the artisans and weavers associated with the carpet, handicraft, and handloom sector, ensuring fair remuneration and safeguarding their livelihoods.

5) Implementation of Handloom Reservation Act and Machine Made Mark: The Chamber advocated for the implementation of the Handloom Reservation Act and the introduction of a Machine Made Mark to protect the interests and livelihoods of artisans and weavers engaged in carpet, handicraft, and handloom activities.

6) Revival and Rehabilitation Scheme for Sick MSMEs: The Chamber highlighted the need for a comprehensive revival and rehabilitation scheme to support and revive sick MSMEs, contributing to the overall economic growth of the region.

7) Authentication of Sanction of Capital Investment Subsidy Claim. 

8) Retention of Original Tax Invoices by General Managers of Industries

9) Urgent Implementation of Finance Department Order Regarding Procurement Goods and Services by the Government Departments / PSU`s /Aided Institutions

10) Request for Enhancing the Effectiveness of the Micro and Small Enterprise Facilitation Council (MSEFC) regarding delayed Payments of MSME`s in Jammu and Kashmir

11)Decision regarding Change in line of activity after provisional registration. 

The interactive session proved to be a valuable platform for the PHD Chamber delegation comprised of Mr Sajad Shah, Mr Fayaz Bhat, Er Bilal Bhat, Mr Bilal Kawoosa, Mr Shabir Abdullah, Iqbal Fayaz Jan and discuss these critical issues.
