SIA conducts second round of searches in valley, seizes incriminating gadgets and documents

Srinagar, Nov 10 (KNS): State Investigtion Agency (SIA) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday conducted the second round of searches at 10 locations in Srinagar, Pulwama and Anantnag districts, seizing incriminating gadgets and documents.


A statement issued to KNS said, “In continuation to searches conducted on 08.11.2023 , State Investigation agency Kashmir conducted searches at multiple locations falling in district Srinagar (two locations), Pulwama (seven locations) and Anantnag (one location). The searches were conducted in the wee hours as part of ongoing investigation in case FIR No. 08/2023 of Police Station SIA Kashmir. It is pertinent to mention that this is a terror funding case in which money amounting to 85 crores has been raised and laundered through covert channels which is suspected to be used in funding terrorism and secessionism in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir."

"This operation marks the second round of searches in this case as the SIA already conducted extensive searches on Wednesday in New Delhi and numerous districts of the Kashmir valley," statement reads.

The raids conducted on Wednesday included the premises of a serving police officer and a leading businessperson. The special teams have recovered incriminating evidence in electronic gadgets like mobile devices, laptops, SIM cards and documents like, passports, chequebooks, passbooks, and credit/debit cards.
