Srinagar November 15 (KNS): CPI (M) leader Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami has expressed shock and grief over the tragic road accident in Assar area of Doda in which 38 persons died and several others were injured.
This Doda district has become a death trap and such accidents have become a norm. It was debated by the Legislative Assembly and a House Committee was constituted to submit recommendations. The recommendations submitted were not implemented by the administration.
Mere expressing grief and condolences are not enough. What is required is to thoroughly get this area studied by experts for effective measures so that more lives are not put at stake.
He urged the administration to provide adequate compensation to the families of the deceased and free of cost medical treatment to the injured persons.(KNS)
