Jammu November 29 (KNS): Bringing vibrancy in the democracy by fortifying it at the grassroots level and realizing momentous development in J&K are the historic achievements of government led by PM Narendra Modi.
This was stated by Priya Sethi, BJP National Executive Member and former minister while flagging off Bharat Vikas Sankalp Yatra here on Wednesday.
The senior BJP functionary said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strengthened the grassroots democracy in J&K by strengthening the Panchayati Raj Institutions. She said that it was the insightful and visionary leadership of PM Modi that led to strengthening of the grassroots level democracy and establishment of the three tier system of PRIs across J&K.
Priya Sethi asserted that soon after declaring the contentious Article 370 null and void, PM Modi took several multidimensional and multipronged development initiatives like AIIMS, IIT, IIM, four laning of highways, Expressway, and many more to transform the development profile of the region.
The former Minister mentioned "Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a remarkable transformation since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. There has been a significant decline in terrorist activities, with recruitment rates plummeting by an impressive 80%. Investment in the region has surged by a staggering 300%, fueling job creation, infrastructure development, and overall economic prosperity. Tourism has also experienced a remarkable revival, with tourist arrivals doubling since 2019. The government's commitment to J&K's development is further evident in the initiation of infrastructure projects worth over Rs. 1 lakh crore since 2019. The abrogation of Article 370 and the subsequent strategic initiatives have undoubtedly set J&K on a transformative journey. The region is poised for a brighter future, characterized by peace, prosperity, and integration with the rest of India."
She said that the situation on ground is so promising as development and democracy are flourishing with exemplary momentum that even opposition leaders also agree that Modi Government’s rule remained momentous as needful changes have been given shape including creation of robust democratic set up.
"Be it democracy or development, Jammu and Kashmir today is setting new examples. New dimensions of development have been created after end of Article 370”, she maintained, adding that the Bharat Vikas Sankalp Yatra is a nationwide campaign to highlight the achievements of the Modi government in the nearly one decade.(KNS)
