“He Wanted Me to Become an IAS Officer”: Son Grieves Father’s Loss in Kashmir Attack

Srinagar, Oct 21(KNS): A week ago, Dr. Shahnawaz Dar’s home was filled with joy as his daughter’s wedding brought laughter and celebration.

But that happiness was short-lived, replaced by an overwhelming sorrow that has now engulfed his family and community.

On October 20, Dar was among the seven victims killed in the terror attack at Gagangeer in Ganderbal.

When his body was brought back to his home in Budgam district on Monday morning, the grief was palpable, and the entire village was left in mourning.

Dar, a father of three—two sons and a daughter—was the sole breadwinner for his family. His son, Mohsin Shahnawaz Dar, who is preparing for the civil services, could barely contain his heartbreak as he asked, “Who will take care of us now?Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelMy father worked tirelessly to become a doctor, and now he’s been taken from us.
