Bandipora, June 23: Members of the Pensioners United Front, District Bandipora, organised a peaceful protest at Mini Secretariat Bandipora to demand inclusion of pensioners in the proposed benefits in the 8th pay commission.
The member also submitted a memorandum to the office of Deputy Commissioner Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, urging the administration to take up their demand for inclusion in the proposed benefits of the 8th Pay Commission.
The delegation, comprising retired employees from various government departments, emphasised that despite their years of dedicated service, pensioners are being left out of the expected Dearness Allowance (DA) revisions under the upcoming pay commission framework. They appealed for immediate redressal of the issue and highlighted that a similar memorandum had already been submitted earlier to the Hon’ble Prime Minister.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The district-level memorandum was formally submitted by Rafiq Ahmed Paray and Ghulam Muhammad Lone, who represented the Front during the meeting. Deputy Commissioner Qadri gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured them that the matter would be taken up with the concerned authorities at the appropriate level.
The Pensioners United Front expressed gratitude to the district administration for its cooperation and support. It reiterated their hope that the voices of retired public servants will be acknowledged and addressed in policy decisions concerning financial welfare.
