16 Higher Secondary Schools, 21 Schools Without Principals, Headmasters in Kulgam


Kulgam, 25 July (KNS): In South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, 16 higher secondary schools and 21 schools are operating without principals and headmasters.

As per the details accessed by Kashmir News Service (KNS), the key positions such as Chief Education Officer (CEO), Deputy CEO, three Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs), four Zonal Education Planning Officers (ZEPOs), and 124 lecturer posts have been vacant for months.

The absence of principals and headmasters has severely impacted the functioning of these schools. Parents have confirmed that their children's educational institutions are running without proper supervision, which is detrimental to the quality of education.

Moreover, the vacant positions of CEO, Deputy CEO, and several ZEOs and ZEPOs in the district are causing significant issues.

An anonymous education department official stated that without these key positions, essential tasks like infrastructural development, tendering, transfers, and school monitoring are impossible.

Parents are calling on the authorities to fill these vacancies promptly.

District Development Council (DDC) Chairman Mohammad Afzal Parray said, "I have submitted a memorandum to LG Manoj Sinha and the former Chief Secretary regarding these issues, but unfortunately, no action has been taken. I once again urge the LG Administration to address this matter urgently."(KNS)
