70 PC of J&K’s New MLAs Are Graduates or Higher: ADR

Srinagar, Oct 10 (KNS): The educational qualifications of the newly elected representatives in the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly reveal that 70% hold a graduate degree or higher, according to a report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR).

Out of the 90 winning candidates, 63 have declared their educational status as graduate or above, while 28% have completed schooling up to the 12th grade.

According to KNS correspondent, Among the educated candidates is Kuldeep Raj Dubey, a BJP MLA from Reasi, who holds a graduate degree. Omar Abdullah, a prominent leader of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference, has a degree from a reputed institution.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Shafi Ahmad Wani, representing JKNC from Beerwah, is another professional graduate in the assembly.Dr. Rameshwar Singh, an independent candidate from Bani, stands out with his doctorate.

The report further reveals that 29 out of 90 winning candidates are between the ages of 25 and 50 years, with the majority, 61 candidates, aged between 51 and 80 years.

28% of candidates fall between the 8th and 12th grades.(KNS)
