Rajasthan | July 12,(KNS): In a remarkable display of devotion and craftsmanship, two sisters from Bengaluru — Suraiyya Quraishi and Bibi Tabassum — have completed a handwritten copy of the Holy Qur’an on cloth after six years of dedicated work. The rare and sacred manuscript was recently presented at the revered Dargah of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishty (R.A.) in Ajmer Sharif.
Written in elegant calligraphy on specially prepared cloth, the Holy Qur’an is divided into five bound volumes containing 604 pages. The presentation at Ajmer Sharif drew large crowds of devotees, who gathered to witness the manuscript and offer prayers in its presence.
Haji Syed Salman Chishty, Gaddi Nashin of Ajmer Sharif and Chairman of the Chishty Foundation, has now proposed that this handcrafted Qur’an be officially gifted by the Government of India to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The vision is to have the sacred manuscript placed in the Holy Qur’an Museum near the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah al-Munawwarah.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“This holy manuscript, lovingly created by two noble sisters of India, reflects the deep reverence and spiritual artistry of our land,” Haji Syed Salman Chishty said. “It is our heartfelt wish to offer this as a gift of peace and devotion, and to further strengthen the spiritual and cultural ties between India and Saudi Arabia,” he added.
Formal discussions will soon be held with the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of External Affairs to present the manuscript as a symbolic gift from India to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
The initiative not only highlights India’s tradition of sacred art and calligraphy but also aims to promote interfaith respect and spiritual diplomacy between the two nations.(KNS)
