Jammu, Sep 15 (KNS) : The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Jammu and Kashmir has registered a case against a former Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), Jammu, and four private beneficiaries for allegedly granting illegal permissions for transfer of 'Gair Mumkin Khad' land, officials said on Tuesday.

The FIR (No. 12/2026) was lodged at Police Station ACB Central, Jammu, against Nisar Ahmad Shad, the then Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), Jammu, and four others, they said.

The case was registered following the outcome of a preliminary enquiry (PE-JSK-17/2019), which prima facie disclosed that the accused public servant, during the period from May 23, 2018 to July 11, 2018, allegedly abused his official position by granting nine permissions for alienation/transfer of 'Gair Mumkin Khad' land situated at Chowadi and Deeli in Jammu.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The permissions were allegedly granted in violation of applicable revenue laws, government orders and directions of the High Court concerning land recorded as 'Gair Mumkin Khad', the ACB said.

The enquiry further revealed that the permissions were shown to have been granted with the approval of the Deputy Commissioner, Jammu. However, verification conducted with the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, revealed that no such approval, note sheet or formal delegation order was available on record, officials said.

Accordingly, the FIR has been registered under Section 5(1)(d) read with Section 5(2) of the J&K Prevention of Corruption Act, Svt. 2006, and Sections 120-B, 467, 468 and 471 RPC.

Further investigation in the matter is in progress, officials added. (KNS)
