Srinagar, September 5 (KNS): Adil Khan, supporting the daughter of jailed separatist leader Sarjan Barkati, has expressed his determination to secure Barkati's release from prison and ensure his participation in the upcoming elections from the Ganderbal constituency.

He said they are doing their best to get Barkati out of jail. He added that they hope his nomination papers will be accepted so he can contest the election. "We believe in equality, and Barkati deserves the same opportunity as other candidates," Khan said.

Khan also said that they have challenged the rejection of Barkati's previous nomination in the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, awaiting the judgment.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe further said that Barkati has fulfilled all the necessary legal requirements and deserves a fair chance.

He said that despite opposition, the people of Gandarbal should support Barkati. He added that some fear Barkati's return might disrupt their political hold. Khan also said, "I am here for Sarjan Barkati, not for myself."

Khan said that if the political leaders are truly sincere, they should recognize Barkati's struggles and give him a fair chance. He added that despite Barkati's long imprisonment and the hardships faced by his family, they still hope for justice.(KNS)
