Bandipora, Sept 14: The body of nine-year-old Momin Ahmad, who had drowned in Madhumati Nalla near District Police Lines (DPL), Bandipora, on September 10, was recovered on Monday after a five-day-long search operation.

The body was recovered following sustained efforts by the SDRF, Bandipora Police, civil administration, local volunteers and divers involved in the search operation.

Momin, a resident of Ganie Mohalla, Kaloosa, had remained untraced since the incident.

The body was retrieved from the nalla and will be handed over to the family after completion of the required legal formalities.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Meanwhile, Bandipora MLA Nizamuddin Bhat termed the recovery a “big relief” and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family, saying their grief and pain are shared.

The bereaved family has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the residents, SDRF teams, Bandipora Police and diver Sheikh Hamza for their relentless efforts and support throughout the search operation.(KNS)
