Srinagar, J&K, June 14 (KNS): The All J&K Shia Association on Friday said that they have decided to withdraw from participating in Muharram-related meetings with the J&K Administration due to non-fulfillment of commitments regarding facilities by the administration during Muharram and Safar.
General Secretary of the All J&K Shia Association, Abid Ansari, in a statement issued to KNS, said: "Under my leadership, we have decided to withdraw from participating in any Muharram-related meetings with the J&K Administration, effective immediately."
"The administration's consistent failure to implement essential facilities for mourners during Muharram and Safar has left us with no choice but to withdraw from these meetings," he added. "Despite numerous promises, they have failed to honor their commitments, and we will no longer engage in mere lip service," he further said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Ansari also stated, "It is astonishing that, despite the significant Shia population in J&K, there is no dedicated budget allocated for Muharram. We will no longer rely on empty promises but will instead focus on serving our community through our own efforts."
"We had submitted a comprehensive 23-point proposal last year, aimed at enhancing the facilities and experience for the mourners, but none of these commitments were honored," Ansari said. "We will now rely on our volunteers and organization to ensure the necessary arrangements for Muharram and Safar across our Imam Barghas and Mosques," he added. (KNS)
