Toronto, Dec 10(KNS): Ahmed Bilal, founder of the Canadian Peace Appreciation, has issued a statement on the occasion of Human Rights Day, highlighting the ongoing impact of conflict and occupation on basic human rights.
Speaking on the anniversary of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Bilal emphasized the urgent need for governments and religious leaders to respond to the calls for peace from millions of people worldwide.
“Occupation and conflict continue to deprive countless individuals of their most fundamental rights to life and peace,” he said.

Human Rights Day, observed annually on December 10, marks the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the UN General Assembly in 1948. The day serves to promote awareness of basic rights and freedoms for all, regardless of gender, nationality, ethnicity, race, or religion.(KNS).
