AIKS, JKVM observe Balidan Divas in New Delhi

Srinagar, Sep 15 (KNS) : All India Kashmiri Samaj Regd, Jammu Kashmir Vichar Manch in support with GKPD observed Balidan Divas at B K Ganjoo Memorial park in New Delhi.

In a statement issued, This was to remember and pay homage to the Kashmiri Pandits killed during militancy in 1990 onwards and also to pay reverence to Guru Teg Bahadur on His 350th martyrdom anniversary this year.

On September 14 1989 prominent Kashmiri Pandit leader Tika lal Taploo was martyred by militants in Srinagar and every year Kashmiri Pandits observe this day as Balidan Divas. This year the Chief guest was Sanjay Kundu former DGP Himachal Pradesh, Guest of honour Ram Niwas, ex DGP Chhattisgarh, AIKS President Ravinder Pandita and Paramjit Chandhok of DGPC.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelFlower tributes were paid at the memorial of martyrs at BK Ganjoo Park by hundreds of Kashmiri Pandits of Delhi-NCR region.

Speaking on the occasion Ravinder Pandita president AIKS said that Balidan started from Adi Shankracharya era down to Guru Teg Bahadur and 1990 exodus. Similar sentiments were echoed by other speakers who included Sanjay kundu, Ram Niwas, Paramjit Chandhok and Pammi Pandita.

Community children presented bhakti songs and a skit depicting the plight of Community and martyrs.(KNS)
