AIP Holds Day-Long Deliberation Post-Assembly Election Results; Criticizes Omar Abdullah and JKNC

Srinagar, Oct 09(KNS): In the wake of assembly election results, the Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) conducted a day-long meeting to introspect and analyze the outcomes. AIP party leaders engaged in a comprehensive discussion regarding their performance, recognizing that limited time for campaigning and reaching out to the masses impacted their ability to connect with the electorate.

The party extended its heartfelt gratitude to the voters and supporters who placed their trust in AIP’s ideology. AIP emphasized that despite the challenges, including Er Rashid’s delayed bail and numerous attempts at character assassination, it was evident that the political landscape had become a battle of NC, PDP, PC, Apni Party, Congress, and BJP versus Er Rashid and his AIP. "This clearly reflects the growing influence and rising prominence of Er Rashid and the AIP," party leaders remarked.

AIP reiterated its commitment to the people, pledging to represent them both in the Assembly and Parliament, advocating for the restoration of the political rights of Kashmiris. AIP reaffirmed its promise to address all the issues of the people, with a vision to transform their aspirations into reality, regardless of the challenges.

While briefing media persons after concluding the day long meeting, AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi strongly criticized Omar Abdullah's recent statement suggesting a “goodbye” to the fight for Article 370.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe party passed a resolution condemning this U-turn, even before any government formation. “Such a stance was not unexpected,” said Inam Un Nabi, “given the historical betrayals of the JKNC, from Sheikh Abdullah to Omar Abdullah .”

Inam Un Nabi also refuted Omar Abdullah's assertion that Er Rashid got sympathy vote from his time in jail played a significant role in his 2024 parliamentary election success, challenging  Omar Abdullah’s attempt to undermine Er Rashid’s popularity. “In the 2019 Parliamentary elections, it was Er Rashid who took lead in six assembly constituencies,” Inam Un Nabi reminded Omar Abdullah. “Had it not been stage-managed killing and stone-pelting incident on polling day in the Mandigam area of Langate in 2019, Er Rashid would have been in Parliament.”

Inam Un Nabi accused Omar Abdullah of retreating from his responsibilities towards restoration of article 370 for which he received electoral mandate. “He appears to be running away from this core issue of election campaign  and has started now praising Narender Modi and his govt.
