AIP Moves Delhi High Court After NIA Court Rejects Custody Parole for MP Er Rashid

Srinagar, March 11 (KNS):  The Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) has expressed strong disappointment over the NIA court’s decision to reject custody parole for AIP President and Member of Parliament from Baramulla, Engineer Rashid, to attend the ongoing session of Parliament. The party has now filed an appeal before the Delhi High Court, which is scheduled for hearing tomorrow before the Division Bench.

According to a statement issued to KNS reads that AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi, while reacting to the developments, stated, “It is deeply concerning that despite being an elected representative of the people, Engineer Rashid is being denied his fundamental right to represent his constituency in Parliament.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe rejection of custody parole by the NIA court is yet another example of the unjust treatment meted out to him.”

He further added that AIP remains steadfast in its legal and political battle for Engineer Rashid’s rights. “We have now moved an appeal before the Division Bench of the Delhi High Court, which will hear the matter tomorrow. We hope justice prevails and Er Rashid is allowed to fulfill his constitutional duty.”

AIP has urged all democratic voices to stand in support of the jailed MP, emphasizing that preventing an elected representative from attending Parliament goes against the principles of democracy and justice.(KNS)
